The Naming

© 2000 by Lynnette E. Fitch

  Say it once; say it twice;
For good measure, say it thrice.
Tie me to you - speak my name.
Letters conjure and lay claim.
Weave a web of words like this.
Seal your spell-cast with a kiss.
Enthrall my ear, enchant my mind;
Thus unto you you me bind.
Practice all the ancient art;
Make your magic move my heart.
But if you charm me, have a care -
Most fragile is a soul laid bare.
